One such brand, The Botanist, is distinctive not only because of how its botanicals showcase the regional terroir but also because its birthplace is an area typically known for some of the world's finest scotches. It is made in the Bruichladdich Distillery, which is located on the isle of Islay in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. Using a painstaking process that takes seven months to pick and dry each botanical, petal by petal and leaf by leaf, a professional forager on staff harvests 22 botanicals that are brought together in a balanced recipe to represent the unmistakable flavor profile of Islay. Miguel Diaz, food and beverage Director at Buckhead Club in Atlanta, uses The Botanist in his signature cocktail, The Winning Pitch.
